After Jean COCTEAU (1889-1963), "Le Baiser" (The Kiss) Embossed engraving on paper, signed in the plate and numbered in Braille. Sight size: 31.5 x 23.5 cm An edition designed to introduce the visually impaired to Cocteau's works, produced in a run of 1,000 copies in 1992 under the supervision of E Dermit, Jean Cocteau's successor in title. A major French artist of the XXᵉ century and active in many fields - poetry, theater, cinema, graphic arts - he is one of the leading figures of the avant-garde. A close friend of many artists such as Picasso, Satie and Chanel, he developed a personal style recognizable by the simplicity of his line and the poetry of his motifs. His graphic works, often produced in the 1950s-1960s, blend clean lines and symbolism. Cocteau was elected to the Académie française in 1955.
