Madeleine VIONNET (1876-1975) - Lot 189
Madeleine VIONNET (1876-1975) Two pencilled designs, for a shirt and a coat. One signed "BL. AUBERT" and the other with a signature to be deciphered. Size: 27 x 21 cm Madeleine Vionnet (1876-1975) was a fashion pioneer, famous for liberating the female silhouette with the bias-cut. Active during the golden age of Art Deco, in the 1920s and 1930s she created fluid, elegant, corset-free dresses inspired by Greek Antiquity. Her approach, both technical and artistic, made her a major figure in haute couture, whose influence endures to this day. Folds, curled paper on shirt project.
