Madeleine VIONNET (1876-1975) - Lot 191
Madeleine VIONNET (1876-1975) Two pencil sketches, for an interior outfit and a coat. One signed "Bl. Aubert", the other signed "Suzette Meyer" and dated "1929". Size: 27 x 21 cm Madeleine Vionnet (1876-1975) was a fashion pioneer, famous for liberating the female silhouette with the bias-cut. Active during the golden age of Art Deco, in the 1920s and 1930s she created fluid, elegant, corset-free dresses inspired by Greek Antiquity. Her approach, both technical and artistic, made her a major figure in haute couture, whose influence continues to this day.
