CHINA, late 19th-early 20th century
Silk panel embroidered with polychrome and gold threads, depicting a long-tailed pheasant perched on a blossoming branch, in a setting of peonies, symbols of beauty and prosperity. Very fine work executed on ivory satin, mounted under glass in a wooden frame. Good overall condition, with minor rippling of the fabric under glass.
