With a long but fascinating academic background, including ten years of study dedicated to art history, law, and appraisal, I put my expertise and passion to work for collectors, art lovers, and investors.
After a successful career, including studies at the Catholic University of Lille, then Paris at Assas and Paris IV, I was fortunate enough to enroll in the highly confidential auctioneer training program at ESCP and the École du Louvre. With my academic background under my belt, I then had the opportunity to discover the exciting legal aspects of my profession through a year of training at one of France's largest forensic law firms, in Amiens, where I conducted inventories and sales for international companies and sites with unique characteristics (Seveso sites, large-scale factories), which allowed me to experience the profession of a judicial commissioner with rigor and discipline. I've had the opportunity to work on large-scale projects requiring intellectual reflection, for example, the first valuation of a large brand portfolio, which sold for €800,000.
As a result of this experience, the appeal of the capital and the quality of the items sold at Drouot naturally led me to work in the 9th arrondissement, dear to the hearts of all auctioneers in France and Navarre. I was fortunate enough to hold the hammer there for three wonderful years, to, as the singer Barbare said, sell "the fabulous treasures of a past that is no more." During these years, I also worked for the leading appraisal company in France.
Originally from Pas-de-Calais, where I maintain close ties with local elected officials to allow them to have the presence of an auctioneer in the city of Calais and to carry out free, high-quality, confidential, and transparent appraisals, I regularly return to my beautiful region where I maintain close ties with my contacts.
As an auctioneer, I have had the privilege of orchestrating the connection between exceptional works and those who seek them, including the sale of an Alberto Giacometti lamp that sold for €200,000, as well as a painting by an American painter, Burbank, that sold under my hammer for €396,000 (fi). Each auction is a scene where history, emotion, and value come together in a unique moment.
As part of this new generation of judicial commissioners adapting to new legal prerogatives and missions, I decided to add another string to my bow by training with professionals in the task of establishing reports. I am thus able to offer my highly specialized legal perspective in a wide range of areas ranging from estate and guardianship inventories to inventories of collective proceedings. These documents, which I carry out in my capacity as a public and ministerial officer, have strong legal value and guarantee security in my interactions with third parties and correspondents. With highly specialized training in the art market, I can thus draft documents with great precision and quality, while respecting my professional ethics.
